For the third time, designSUPERMARKET will present young fashion designers from the Netherlands, selected by its curators from the participants of the prestigious Fashionclash festival in Maastricht. We will also present a creative project Forza Fashion House initiated by the festival’s organizers to support fashion industry not only in Dutch, but also Europe-wide perspective.

Czech-Dutch designer exchange

The Dutch talents, presented within individual presentation in the Showroom designSUPERMARKET, will be this time connected by the theme of slow fashion and upcycling. Ellen Rooijakkers will present a collection made from organic cotton, hand-dyed the traditional way. Naomi Rachel Timan will introduce a concept of bags made from recycled furniture. The pair will be complemented by an elegant men’s streetwear brand LAU by Laura Verdonk.

Laboratory of fashion design

In the summer of 2017, Maastricht will see the opening of Forza Fashion House, a creative hub for the concentration and development of knowledge and business, backed by the organizers of Fashionclash festival. Its aim is to create an inspiring background for design and presentation of work, which is connected to the local fashion industry and acts as a laboratory, contributing to its development and international relevance.

Curator Nawie Kuiper will present the project during the debate on the theme of support, background and development of fashion design with Veronika Ruppert (Modeschau, Radio Wave) in the accompanying program of designSUPERMARKET. The Czech situation in the systematic support in the field of fashion design will be recapped by Alice Klouzková and other guests. The debate will take place on Saturday 10th December at 5:30 p.m. in NoD, Dlouhá 33, Prague 1.

The program is supported by the Netherlands Embassy in the Czech Republic. Thank you.
