designSUPERMARKET will support people with the Butterfly Child disease. DSM will open a selling exhibition of original images by Bet Orten, a winner of the Czech Grand Design Award, shot for the non-profit organization DEBRA. These photographs were taken for this year’s campaign of the nonprofit organization. It is the only one in the Czech Republic that helps people with this agonizing disease.

Images of strong personalities such as Anna Geislerová, Jiří Bartoška, Tereza Voříšková or Dan Bárta have all become a testimony of the fragility, hope, the power of human will and the desire to live thanks to Bet Orten. Original symbolic projections have become their dominant element.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of autographed photos, which were created in a limited series of ten pieces and will be available for sale exclusively at the designSUPERMARKET 2016, as well as money raised from the sale of calendars and diaries, which will be available in the DSM 2016 POP-UP bookstore in the ground floor of Kafka’s house, all will be donated to help the sick.

„The Butterfly Child disease is an extremely painful disease with which our patients must have to struggle every day. Their skin is so fragile that even an ordinary thing such as a stronger grip or a seam in their clothes can cause a non-healing wound,” says Jitka Čvančarová, the patron of the DEBRA organization Jitka Čvančarová and adds:”Through photographs by Bet Orten we have been able to tell a story about our patients, thanks to this year’s campaign images. A unique series of pictures has been created and now for the first time it will be presented at the designSUPERMARKET in the form of exhibition, for which we are extremely happy.“
