The exhibition of the international curatorial project European Design Stories, realised by designSUPERMARKET and creative group OKOLO, will be held on April, 12 – 17 in the occasion of prestigious Salone del Mobile / Milan Design Week. The screenings of authentic design stories will be accompanied by launch of a comprehensive book Reflection of Contemporary Design in European Countries.
Atelier Clerici 2016
The exhibition in Atelier Clerici is a multimedia mosaic of video interviews and short documentaries on the designers and places encountered during our design trips.
More than 30 designers and creative projects are on display, including Zanellato/Bortotto, Raiding Project, taliaYstudio, Very Wood, Casa Mollino, Azucena, and Nucleo.
Book of stories
A comprehensive 350-page book entitled simply European Design Stories is also launched. It surveys our research and presents a chronological visual diary from our trips accompanied by selected interviews. In addition, the supplementary collection of essays by 10 significant European design critics and curators, including Marco Raino, Matylda Krzykowski, Johanna Agerman Ross, Tulga Beyerle, Maja Vardjan and others, reflects current background of the design scene in the old continent.
European Design Stories is a joint project of the festival of contemporary design in Prague designSUPERMARKET established in 2007 and the creative group OKOLO that has been mapping design and architecture around the world since 2009 and has collaborated with designers, medias and institutions such as ECAL, Depot Basel, Wallpaper, Philips de Pury, Damn and more.
The creative team consists of young curators, designers and photographers Adam Štěch, Jan Kloss, Matěj Činčera, Tomáš Souček, Jan Rybák and Darina Zavadilová.
